Bakersfield attorney gets probation for armed confrontation with homeless man

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A Bakersfield attorney was sentenced Wednesday to three years probation and ordered to undergo anger management counseling.
Attorney Vincent Gorski was convicted in December of a misdemeanor count of exhibiting a firearm. He was acquitted on two other charges, including a felony count of reckless discharge of a gun.Police said Gorski had a confrontation with a homeless man in front of his office on the 300 block of Truxtun Avenue. Police said Gorski got a handgun from his business, pointed it at the man and then fired a shot into the air.Officers found the gun, expended shell casing and video of the incident, according to the department.Gorski will have to wear an electronic monitoring device on his ankle for 90 days.The state bar of California said a conviction like this could be grounds for discipline.
